Bakelite — formally known as phenol-formaldehyde resin (PF) laminate — is one of the oldest and most reliable engineering plastics. These dense, hard sheets are manufactured by impregnating layers of paper or fabric with phenolic resin and pressing them under high heat and pressure. The result is a dimensionally stable material with excellent electrical insulation, mechanical strength and heat resistance.

PVC foam board — also called Celuka board, Forex, or sintra board — is a lightweight, rigid closed-cell PVC sheet with a smooth, hard surface. It combines the workability of wood with the weather resistance and chemical inertness of PVC. Available in white and a range of colours, in thicknesses from 1mm to 25mm.
