Our History

Alps Merchandising is established as a metal trading company in Chinatown, Manila. Early products focused on brass, copper and stainless steel raw materials — tubes, pipes, bushings, wires and shafting — directly imported from Japan, Taiwan and Korea.

Alps becomes the exclusive Philippine distributor for Sandvik (cutting tools) and Neil Tools. During this decade, Alps establishes itself as the number-one importer of brass and bronze materials in Metro Manila, building strong relationships with Japanese and Taiwanese mills.

Alps successfully negotiates a joint venture with a China Export Agency. Intercon Agro-Industrial Corp. is incorporated as a sister company to serve a broader range of industrial and conditioning markets, offering Chinese-sourced products at competitive prices alongside Alps' premium Japanese and Taiwanese imports.

Alps and Intercon now operate two warehouses of approximately 500 m² each in Quezon City. The company offers a comprehensive range of metal products, precision machining tools, Sylvac measuring instruments, racking systems and complete cutting, EDM wire-cutting, grinding and laser services, Toyo Spokes and plastics and insulation products — all from a single location at 20–22 Tinagan cor.
